Sancta Missa Latin Mass Workshops for 2012

CHICAGO, IL (November 15, 2011) - Roman Catholic Priests, Deacon and Seminarians are invited to attend one of the Sancta Missa Latin Mass Workshops hosted by the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius. The workshop introduces the use of the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite to the registrants, the celebration of the 1962 Missale Romanum and 1962 Rituale Romanum, including Mass, Baptism, Weddings, Funerals, Extreme Unction, and Penance.

The Sancta Missa Workshops are held at the Cardinal Stritch Retreat House at Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein, IL, northwest of Chicago.

Since Pope Benedict issued Summorum Pontificum in 2007, the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius have trained nearly 900 priests personally in the celebration of the Mass and sacraments of the Extraordinary Form.

Workshop Dates:

1) Tuesday (12 noon) through Friday (12 noon) - January 24-27, 2012
2) Tuesday (12 noon) through Friday (12 noon) - May 22-25, 2012

Workshops are also conducted for Priests, Seminarians and Deacons upon request. The Canons Regular have traveled to Sioux Falls, SD, Gaylord, MI, Alexandria, LA, Fatima, Portual, Krazai, Lithuania, as well as other locations, to direct the Sancta Missa Workshops. Contact Fr. Priests, Deacons and Seminarians who cannot attend the workshops on the dates provided sometimes arrange to visit the Canons at one of their parishes in the Chicago area (St John Cantius in Chicago and St Peter's in Volo, IL) for a personal workshop.
