Obama's supporters are threatening to riot if Mitt Romney wins the election. Such violence is typical in less developed countries, and countries with corrupt political institutions. If riots were to occur, it would confirm the corrupt nature of the current administration.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The threats have gone viral on Twitter, with Obama supporters retweeting and pledging their arms to riot in the streets if he is not reelected. The volume of viral traffic on the network suggests the threat is genuine.

Multiple media outlets have picked up this story and are bringing the topic to national attention. The Obama administration, which we would hope would move to quell the threat, will at best make a late-coming, half-hearted plea for people to stay home rather than destroy their own neighborhoods, if they say anything at all.

The threats of rioting are real because it looks increasingly probably that Mitt Romney could come out on top.

Still, the tweets are racist and angry and should give law-abiding citizens reason to pause.

The Obama administration has a duty to lose with as much dignity and grace as possible, if that should be what voters decide in November. Furthermore, because he will still be in office on November 7th, Obama will have a sacred duty to enforce law and order to whatever extent is necessary. If riots occur, then they will be the first time in US history that there has been a contentious transition of power, with the only arguable exception being of the election of President Lincoln in 1860.

The mere possibility of a riot suggests corruption in an administration whose leader prides himself as a first-rate community organizer.

Romney has drawn fire from a small group of citizenry that draws their sustenance from public assistance. Even among that group, the vast majority have no plans to run riot. Being on public assistance does not make one a criminal, however, there has been a conscious effort to portray Romney as insensitive to the needs of that community and planning the cut them off support.

This is a lie, perpetuated by radical Obama supporters. Romney has called for all Americans to take responsibility for their well-being, but he has never pledged to cut anyone off from much-needed public support. The support system is a safety net designed to help people who have no alternative than the street. That safety net will not be removed under the Romney administration.

However, some people who do not belong in that net might encouraged to find their way out.

If Obama wins a second term, it is telling that there are no threats from Tea Party supporters to run amok. There are no moderates, no independents or staunch conservatives who are threatening to riot. Catholics, who have endured one of the most anti-Catholic administrations of the past century, have never threatened to commit a crime in the face of government sanctioned prejudice.

However, the same cannot be said for Obama's supporters.

This is ironic considering that after the election returns came in, pro-Romney conservative students at the University of Mississippi and Hampden-Sydney College rioted and threaten African-American students while chanting racial slurs.

This "story" that was picked up was from a conservative leaning media outlet who targets twitter accounts of blacks ( based on avatars) This was based on 11 people's accounts. can you give me the actual source/quotes of these supporters who are going t riot? I'm curious is you've posted anything over the last 5 years regarding death threats to Obama? You should be ashamed of yourself for spreading hate-filled lies.

Didn't you Catholics just stampede to the polls to vote this guy into office in 2008? Even though he is pro-abortion, you guys couldn't wait to get him shoved into office.

Truly, voting ballets should only have the major issues with candidates views listed but no names. The voter selects the view HE himself agrees with. This will serve two purposes:
1. It will cause folks to vote for what they believe in.
2. It will take the cult of personality out of the picture.

Hm, do I correctly recall that the Occupiers in New York were using a piece of real estate owned in part by Joe Biden??

Occupiers had no respect for public or private property, as we witnessed, and no dignity when it came to the most basic human cleanliness, and the camps were a haven for criminals of many kinds. Who was egging them on?

My friends who voted for Obama the first time accused those of us who didn't of being racist. They'd say things like, "Don't you want to make history? Are you afraid of him because he's black?" So in other words, it was ok to vote for an inexperienced man because he was black and it would 'make history' but it was not ok not to vote for him based on his inexperience and lack of leadership ability. Indeed.

If Obama gets elected, let's impeach him, get rid of Biden, and hold his entire administration accountable for what they have done. Then, we need to start holding members of the media accountable for the biased and dishonest "journalism" that helped get him elected the first time, and kept him from being impeached these last 4 years.

An attack on the anniversary of 9/11 was blamed on an obscure video nobody watched. People are dead and our worldwide reputation is tarnished and weakened. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I think the whole Bin Laden thing stinks of lies, lies, and more lies.

Let's send the current administration packing, every single one of them.

I have been writing comments in the Huffington Post on-line and let me say the hate-mongers come out of the woodwork. But what really upset's them is I support my view with fact's. They try to come back at me again, then I ask them this question;
Let's say I'm on the fence on who to vote for, what information can you give me about your canidate ( Obama) that would convince me to vote for him?
After that question, they do not reply

Catholic democrats should accept their share of the blame for this sitution. Their fake idea of compassion has produced so many individuals like the ones threatening to riot. I still cannot believe people going to Mass weekly and voting for someone who favors infanticide even after the baby is born. If the doctor fails to kill her in her mother's womb, the evil man Catholic democrats support favors allowing the doctor to finish the job. Also, the evil man Catholic democrats support thinks he is wiser than God on the definition of marriage.

All of this is tolerated by Catholic democrats becuase they think they are voting for their "compassionate" welfare monster-which has produced the sort of individuals threatening to riot. And it is threatening us with a Greece-style collapse. I truly fear that if the evil man Catholic demorats are voting for loses (for which I pray daily) he will not enforce the law and do his duty to protect innocent citizens from murderers. We will be as helpless as the babies are in their mothers' wombs are under this evil man's Presidency.
