Why the Islamic State's systematic recruitment of European Muslims is a threat to us all

Growing number of European Muslims fighting for radical Islam

Muslims from countries in the Middle East make up the largest percentage of members of the Islamic State and other radical Islamist groups. Local Muslims in the Middle East and North Africa constitute the core membership of most Islamist groups; but a new trend is appearing, one that has been finally brought to light by the recent terrorist attacks in France, though it has always existed.

Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Muslims in Europe, specifically those who are non-native born, children of immigrants and those who have refused to integrate into or feel unwelcome by their host country's culture, are now making up ever larger numbers in the growing armies of the radical Islamists.

Act now, please help save fellow Christians from genocide!

The two attacks in Paris earlier this month are just the most shocking and recent of those perpetrated by these Muslims, but similar incidents have occurred in Holland, Denmark and Belgium, and have been occurring for decades.

On January 15, Belgian police killed two Muslim extremists during a raid in the city of Verviers, just the latest in a long series of battles between the Belgian government and radicalized Muslim youth.

The Islamic State has spearheaded the use of so-called "Lone Wolf" attacks. A Lone Wolf is an individual who goes out on their own to cause death, destruction and terror without the aid of a larger terrorist cell. Usually they attack targets that either they are familiar with, or in areas they are familiar with.

These kinds of incidents are hard to predict or prevent ahead of time, as the amount of chatter that law enforcement can pick up on is low or even nonexistent.

While the Islamic State is using fighters who served in Syria, Iraq or other areas in the Middle East, they also tell those who wish to come and fight but can't for any number of reasons, to wage their war in their host countries. Now al-Qaeda and other groups are also leaping to inspire their own Lone Wolves, utilizing online and print propaganda to encourage Muslims to kill in Western countries that may have been their home for almost all their life.

2015 is the perfect year to ensure spiritual health!

The United States, Canada and all of Europe are very vulnerable to radical Muslims who chose to fight and kill as Lone Wolves. Everything the Western world does can be taken as an offense to Muslims, which is something that these radical groups are quick to jump on. They use these basic tenants of Western life, the freedom of speech, education and marriage as justifications to get disaffected Muslim youth to do their dirty work.

The recent trend for recruiting Muslims from their homes in Europe to target Europe is just one symptom of the growing sophistication that radical Muslim groups have developed in the years following the major U.S. military draw down in both Iraq and Afghanistan. It is the heralding of a new generation of war between Islam and the West.
