LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Han Bingbing, from Heilongjiang in north-east China, underwent eight hours of surgery to remove an intraperitoneal tumor, which after four years of growth, had grown to a size larger than a beach ball. By June 18, the tumor had filled five-sixths of her abdomen, and was causing her internal organs to slowly collapse.
Pray for the safe recovery of this girl.
The Xukecheng Health Care Corporation raised more than $18,000 towards Bingbing's surgery since the girl was first diagnosed with ovarian teratoma in 2009. Since then, her family have run up considerable debts trying to deal with the numerous health care bills for Bingbing's ongoing treatment.
The girl has suffered with this condition for five years, surviving despite the expectations of many doctors. Several clinics beforehand had refused to treat the girl, until her family found a hospital that would be willing to do so in Guangzhou, 2,500 miles away in southern China.
